Pink: Imagination/Imaginative, the ultimate Girly-girl, loves all things imaginary and simple, believes in fairy tales, willing to believe in magic and the impossible

Pinks are the ultimate Girly-girls. They are often very gullible, and they love all things imaginary and simple. Most young girls start out as pinks – willingly believing in fairy tales, eager and needy both for love and to give it right back to others. Pinks are the people who save fairies like Tinkerbell. Without the pinks, Tinkerbell would not still be around to tell her tale. They love to play dress-up, and often carry this into adulthood by remaining fashion-forward and extremely stylish. Yes, guys can be Pinks too!!

Pinks will often stay pink throughout their lives. They will never lose that love of the imaginary, and will sometimes develop it by saturating themselves in the arts. Pinks are often close friends with Yellows, and if they undergo a color change, will usually become either a Yellow or a Red.

Strengths: They bring a little bit of magic back into even the hardest of hearts. They bring joy, laughter, and a renewed belief in the innocence of a child. They spread a vibe of sweetness through any group, and their desire to love every single aspect of life is invigorating and contagious. They are beautiful people both inside and out. They, like Yellows, get along well with pretty much any other color and vice-versa, and are well-liked and often highly sought-after by members of the opposite sex.

Weaknesses: Like their close friends the Yellows, Pinks tend to float from one thing to another, and often have trouble settling down. Because of their innocence, Pinks are easily deceived and often taken advantage of in many ways by others. Pinks will tend to marry faster than Yellows, but will quickly become unhappy and lonely, retreating to their imaginary world for comfort. They aren’t quite the life of the party like Yellows, but can get caught up in the party very easily, often to their ruin. They don’t usually have the confidence of a Yellow, therefore being twice as vulnerable to others in their emotions and expressions.

Purple: Arrival/Respected Leader, they are deeply saturated in the arts, and are often inwardly (or outwardly) a Diva

Purples are our respected leaders – those other colors consider to have “arrived”. They have gained much wisdom in and along their journey to becoming a purple, and they are often both spiritually wise as well as knowledgeable in many other things. They are often someone who is deeply saturated in the arts in some form, and are an expert in their field. They are often Diva’s. They carry themselves with a regal confidence, but one that has been well-earned by many years of hard work and sacrifice.

Purples never start out as a purple. Ironically, most purples start out as reds, thus Reds will tend to frustrate Purples to death. On the other hand, a Red’s ultimate color goal is to become a Purple, and they will therefore often idolize a Purple in their quest to become like them. Reds, Blues, and Greens are the most likely to become Purples. Some colors take much longer than others in their metamorphosis to Purple.

Strengths: Purples are usually leaders or heads of a group, department, or company. They are highly respected, sought-after, and loved. They make great teachers and mentors, and impart much of their wisdom on young, still-blending colors.

Weaknesses: Purples can often seem introverted and stand-offish. They have been through more life-experiences than any other color, and therefore see life in a very specific way. This makes them stoic in appearance, and their minds, once made-up, are virtually unchangeable. They often tend to be unsympathetic, and build walls very quickly. They’ve been where their young counter-colors have been, and they don’t want to be reminded of the hurts their mistakes may have previously caused them.

Blue: Kindness/Love, a sincere sympathizer and empathizer, a shoulder to cry on, emotionally in-touch with others, tenderhearted

Blues are the diamonds in the rough. They are the picture of love and kindness. Blues are never given enough credit, because no other color can both sympathize AND empathize the way a blue does. A blue is unique and special, and is genuinely loved by all other colors.

A Blue will usually always remain a Blue, often with Green as their secondary color. Sometimes the Green in them will take over as they mature. Their empathy allows them to get along with all other colors. They are closest with Greens, Oranges, and Reds.

Strengths: The blues are always in touch with their emotions, and therefore understand others in a unique way. They are kind-hearted, often gift-givers, and are the “first responders” – the first one on the scene to help, care for others, or take care of a problem. If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, a Blue is there for you, and will listen and understand in a way most other colors will not. Blues are highly intuitive and often feel your pain almost as deeply as you do.

Weaknesses: Blues often struggle inwardly, the most of all the colors, due to their intuition and connection to love, grief, and emotion in general. Blues are often misunderstood and accused of living in a “fairytale”. Other colors (with the exception of Reds) cannot comprehend the depth of a Blue, and therefore are often frustrated by and or confused by a Blue’s actions. Blues can tend to live life (and often die) brokenhearted, completely unbeknownst to other colors, due to their intense emotional connections and responses to the colors around them.

Green: Stability/Stable, they are quick learners, always eager to grow and change, intrigued by new experiences, very careful

Greens are the seekers. They tend to be very stable, quiet, and careful, but at the same time enjoy new experiences when they come along. They aren’t the first to offer to be in or take charge, but they will step up to the plate and do a fine job if asked to do so.

A Green’s color goal is Orange. A green will usually either become an Orange or have Orange as their secondary color. Greens/Oranges rarely ever explore or become any of the other colors. Many Greens will also simply remain a Green.

Strengths: They are always willing to grow and learn, take instruction well, and give it just as well in return. They are understanding and caring, and are the color type that people most like to be around. They get along well with Oranges, Blues, and sometimes Reds.

Weaknesses: Greens aren’t usually thrilled with change(s), especially drastic ones. The downfall of a green is that they will often get left-behind, especially by a red, if they are unwilling to take chances. They often want to become an Orange, but tend not to be bold enough to “go for it”. If too careful, they will miss out on a potentially life-changing opportunity.

Yellow: Happy/Sunshine, they both bring and enjoy lots of laughter, they are always the bright spot or “fun element” of any group

Yellows are the sunshine of life. They are often beautiful people who bring laughter and joy wherever they go. They are always the bright spot and add an element of pure fun to any group/setting.

A Yellow’s color goal is Green. They will, much like a red, often explore other colors – mainly Green, Blue, and Orange – before eventually becoming either Green or Orange. Many Yellow’s will always stay a Yellow, and never become another color.

Strengths: Yellow’s are happy to go wherever and do whatever – they aren’t burdened down by the cares of life. They get along well with pretty much any other color, and vice-versa. They are well-liked and are often highly sought-after buy members of the opposite sex. You can always count on a Yellow for a good laugh and a fun time.

Weaknesses: The downfall of a yellow is that they will often eventually burn-out. They spend so much time floating from one thing to another that they rarely settle down and really make anything of themselves. They are content to constantly be the life of the party and never really pick “one thing” and stick with it. They appear to be put-together on the outside, often smiling through the toughest of situations, but they are often a mess on the inside, and never seem to be able to fill the void they often spend their entire lives trying to fill. Yellows often get married quickly because of their appearance, but they are often unhappy, and will tend to want “out” of a situation just as quickly as they wanted “in”.

Orange: Courage/Courageous, great leaders, always striving to move up, eager to learn; “vitality with endurance”

Oranges are the Leaders – They are willing to work hard, start at the bottom and work their way to the top. An orange always strives for something more, and is often unsatisfied with where they currently are or what they’re doing. They like to have checklists, they are organized, and often find great relief in “checking things off” their lists.

Oranges often start out as Greens, with “becoming an Orange” as their color goal. Once an Orange, always an Orange.

Strengths: Oranges are usually fantastic in the workplace, and make great managers, boss’s, and people in charge. Oranges are determined, much like a Red, but tend to be more patient and willing to see something through to the end longer than a Red. Oranges are great listeners. Oranges are the people to rely on if and when a job needs to be done, correctly, thoroughly, and on time. Oranges are highly successful, and are often extremely wealthy.

Weaknesses: Oranges are usually sympathetic to the plight of another but they are rarely, if ever, empathetic. They don’t get along well with Blues. Oranges are more of the “get over it and move on” type. They can often come across as insensitive and occasionally turn people off by their professional (seemingly strict) exterior appearance. They often let their jobs/careers take over their lives, and although highly successful, are often unhappy, lonely, and/or single.

Red: Strength/Strong, a very passionate person, a sponge

Reds symbolize strength and passion. They are the strongest color. The color Red itself has the longest wavelength of all the colors, therefore allowing it to be seen longest and strongest. At some point, a Red will absorb each of the other colors. They are, in that sense, the only color who will “travel” or “go through” each of the other colors on their color journey.

A Red’s ultimate “color goal” is to become a Purple.

Strengths: Reds are driven. They act quickly, getting jobs done in a timely and efficient manner. Reds have a strong outward show of confidence, and can tend to be intimidating to other colors without meaning to do so. They are willing to go anywhere and do anything. They love life, and are usually passionate in both their relationships as well as their line(s) of work. They willingly get along with any other color at any time, connect well with Blues, and gravitate most to Purples. They are very encouraging, often gift-givers, and usually make great teachers. They are fiercely loyal and will not tolerate bullying behavior or anything that threatens their family or close friends.

Weaknesses: Red’s are often headstrong, and many have severe tempers. The ironic thing is that self-confidence is the thing a Red struggles with most, and is often a Red’s greatest downfall. Red’s are extremely self-conscious and often spend most of their lives being people-pleasers. Red’s can be discouraged very easily, and often waste many years of their lives trying to be what they think everyone else wants them to be before they finally realize they are free to be their OWN person.

Ever since I was a kid, I have seen people as “colors”. Not an aura, but a personality color. Each person in this world is unique – no other person is exactly like another – we were specifically created that way. However, many people have similar personalities – basically what I am defining as a COLOR – therefore many of the same types get along well, and many contrasting types have trouble with each other. I’ve had countless people tell me to write this down, and I’m finally taking their advice! The “theories” I have on each color have been created because of how I “see” them in my mind, combined with some personal research on what colors mean or how they are used/symbolized in today’s society. I believe, however, that the idea that we are all “Crayons” and we go around “coloring” on each others “pages” in life is original to me. I also think that we each have a “box” of crayons, filled with many different colors, and our “use” (or lack thereof) of certain colors determines whether we gain more crayons, or lose them. We are responsible, then, for not only how we use our own color(s), but for how we respond to those that write, scribble, draw, or”color” on our page. These two ideas alone have generated hours of conversation with may people, and I have been told that it is interesting enough to be at least written down. Therefore, I would like to begin to mold this entire “theory” into a blog (to start), and perhaps eventually into a book that might be used as a great tool used to gain insight into the inner workings of behavioral psychology. I will post each “color” and it’s meaning as a separate blog post, and be open to discussion, questions, and insight as I finally and officially begin this colorful journey!
